SIMPLE NATURE SCAVENGER HUNT

By Polly

my family spends a lot of time outdoors. not many weeks pass by without at least one hike. my kiddos have always been fascinated with the things that we find on our adventures. sometimes i like to make it more fun for them by sending them on a scavenger hunt!  this was my daughter, baya's, favourite one -

materials needed:  an empty egg box (or something similar if your family doesn't eat eggs), colored markers or pencils, and some mama nature!

i gave my kids each an empty egg box with a different colour marked on the bottom of each section.  the only rule of this scavenger hunt was that they had to find {at least} one thing for each box - the more interesting, the better!

this simple activity is perfect for a toddler/pre-schooler who can't yet read. {although my nine year old had fun too!}

P.S. Check out Elisabeth's version of this awesome project, too!

  4. Right on! This kind of scavenger hunt is really perfect for little ones. It’s not too complicated for them to understand. You can also allow them to roam even just within your eyesight. Nothing thrills kids more than being allowed to be on their own, even with eyes watching them. :)
